@dimka Sometimes straight forward sometimes not I'm afraid. Did you choose the wipe option on the installer last time? If not just try again using that and watch the installer does it give any messages during the install? What OS are you installing fromhe more info you can give the more people can help. Also you can ask here https://t.me/WelcomePlus it's our install group on Telegram/TELEports you can get answers quicker there at times.

@dimka said in the phone turned into a cap:
I had no idea that I would have to jump with a tambourine and cast spells to install Ubuntu Touch.
At least it didn't turn you into a frog like the last guy

@thilov thanks a lot for being Ubuntu Touch. I just can't understand why LineageOS do it as written and everything works?
-
@dimka So you just want an apology for everything not working perfectly for you?
-
@Dimka and @thilov a gentle reminder that the Ubuntu Code of Conduct still applies on this forum.
-
@arubislander yes, sorry.

managed to establish Ubuntu Touch . first put TWRP , cleared everything . and only after cleaning installed Ubuntu Touch . Thank you all for the answers, I hope I have one problem with the installation
-
@dimka The answer is simple, LineageOS is a modded Android, Ubuntu Touch is totally different: Different kernel config, different use of partitions, different structure of the initramfs etc.
So, that all makes it hard to cover every case that users might have depending on:
- if they repartitioned their device
- if there is still data in the system partition which will prevent correct boot
- if data has been encrypted
- if the vendor partition is from a different Android release
And more ^^

@lakotaubp Hello I have the same kinda issue. After installing while I skipped the message error for adb connection, I have a choice with 3 option : reboot now, android option, ubuntu option, I chose reboot now.
then I stay stuck on The MI + Ubuntu Touch powered by UBports foundation homepage.
Please, how can it be fixed precisely ?
why do I have adb error reports when I open UBport Installer ?
do i have to choose the first option "reboot now after the installation ?
so many interrogation to solve this pb (an unusable phone). -
@raphaey As I said above I don't have this device so no direct knowledge but, from what you say you only had recovery installed. Either try again and choose the wipe option on the installer you should not have to do anything other than follow the installer instructions.
Or as @Dimka said
"managed to establish Ubuntu Touch . first put TWRP , cleared everything . and only after cleaning installed Ubuntu Touch . Thank you all for the answers, I hope I have one problem with the installation"
Use twrp wipe everything then try the installer. The newest device I have is a OP3 so am not the ideal person to help on this. Though that had a similar issue with needing twrp to wipe, clear and format cache and data for the installer to work
