The Convergence Experience: Nexus 4

Anyway, since I am finally set up and converging on my Nexus 4, I'm going to make some notes and see about things we can change, things we cannot change, and things that frankly will just come with upgrading the phone (which is inevitable due to the coming 3G obsolescence.) opens notes
Positives:
- No longer that interested in video/voice chat now that my phone is my computer, since I now have access to voice calling and text messaging from my screen!
- Don't need FluffyChat (spouse showing interest in playing with code), since the web version of Element works beautifully in Morph Browser.
Negatives/workables?
- crashes on resizing browser sometimes (maybe tech limitation?)
- Press Enter to send on Messaging in Desktop would be cool
- moving the window buttons to right side. Don't know how "hard coded" that is in UT

@totalrando Ok so the music app hates me. Not sure why. But I have done moved a bunch of mp3s into the Music folder. (That took some work. What looks like intuitive touch on a phone had me screaming "where's Nautilus" on a desktop. It almost made me open terminal. Almost.)
That said, it still doesn't recognize that there are mp3 files in the Music folder. Back to media player and its lack of track listings, etc. Tested Element's web desktop which does work better than Fluffy Chat if we are being honest. I can even pretend to make a call. (On a side note, is there a flag I can turn on to try to allow access to camera? If my phone catches on fire I will accept the risk.)
Today I saw someone asked on ... a social network.... if anyone has tried Ubuntu Touch. Being the Big Doge I am, I responded that indeed, I was responding-- from my phone on a desktop.

- Crashes may be because of out of memory issue which is common on morph and webapps. Although, there are indeed other weird crashes in morph

Ctrl +Enteris used in the messaging app - Window button placement is personal preference and personally I like them on the left. Adding an option may not be easy though because those buttons are displayed in the left part of the indicators when in full screen.
- Music app works fine on my Nexus 5 though I haven't added new music lately. Maybe try rebooting.
- Morph currently has issue with camera and mic access

@kugiigi I'm sensing you're right on the first one. As much fun as this is even on a Nexus 4, it's more a gateway device than much else. Definitely upgrading to Nexus 5 minimum if not ... the fajita. (I just read 10-tab browser windows and started to tear up.)
Ctrl-Enter, no dice. Only clicking send works at present.
The reason I ask about the window buttons is because I remember they could be changed in Ubuntu desktop by switching the placement on a file. I was wondering if structurally it was similar enough that I could use those instructions.
Music app: will experiment. UPDATE: Works now! Guess it needed a reboot to recognize and opened on first try!
Morph: I know the camera and mic access are shut off... but I am curious as to how (are they flagged off, or is there some deeper systemic issue in the browser/phone relationship that needs to be addressed.)

@totalrando When Ubuntu was still using Unity, I don't think they ever added an option for the windows button placement and they are always in the left. I assume their reasoning back then is similar to what I said since Unity 7 is the basis of the design of Unity8/Lomiri. Now Ubuntu uses Gnome which seems to have no problem with the placement.
To me Lomiri works well and I like it but you can notice that its design is really about the placement of UX elements and its quite limited on options for personal preferences. The launcher is on the left, windows buttons on left, app drawer gesture on the right, etc.

@kugiigi It's really not a big deal to me except a minor preference. And you're right-- I had forgotten that aspect of Unity. Not a big deal to me. It can do a lot for a phone, so I ain't complaining.
