      Hi. When i call, sound is good for me (level a little too low), but people i talk to have an echo really unpleasant.
      I have read few topics about that but i am not able to fix this.
      Do you know if this is my phone or a bug with ubports? Does someone have an idea how to fix it?

        @c_moi I have exactly the same situation, on the phone Xiaomi Redmi Note 7, at my side - no echo, but on the opposite side - a strong echo... this is not even an "echo", the incoming sound enters the outgoing channel completely with some big delay, as a result the other side hears himself clearly and distinctly, it is impossible to use it in real life... 😞

          @c_moi said in Caller echo:

          For this problem, maybe you can solve it with uVolMan.
          For the echo i have no clue.

          2015-Now : Meizu MX4 (ubp OTA-23) for daily use
          Spare : Nexus 5

            @keneda I've tried two methods of fighting this brutal echo:

            1. setprop persist.audio.fluence.voicecall false, both under root & phablet
            2. uVolMan, both: Main microphone volume, and Audio property:
              sink-input-by-media-role:phone
              nothing helps....

              @markatrafik that is too bad! I really like ubports, and use only this... But embarrassing when people say they hear themselves... Do you thing that formating the phone and resinstall everything could help?

                @c_moi I am not a project developer at the moment and I can only assume that either this is a programming bug, or it is necessary to use some echo cancellation methods... in any case here we need the developers to take the Issue

                  I looked up what they say on the Internet, and found that in 2018 there was a similar problem with Sony phones.
                  The workaround was to turn off AEC (Acoustic Echo Cancellation) and NS (Noise Suppression) in the "vendor" stuff.
                  For example this link:
                  https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/the-echo-issue.3793902/
                  We have in Redmi Note 7, also this set of mechanisms in sound preprocessing, with the same UUIDs
                  I quote the file /vendor/etc/audio_effects.xml

                      <preprocess>
                          <stream type="voice_communication">
                              <apply effect="aec"/>
                              <apply effect="ns"/>
                          </stream>
                      </preprocess>

                  Maybe this solution could help?

                          @c_moi Very sorry! In my case at least ~ 50% of the echo problem was a smartphone-case

                              @c_moi ... and yet the problem is not the phone case. I decided to return Android for now, restored backup of all partitions through TWRP, loaded Android, and decided to try this case, will this "echo" under Android. There is no echo, the caller not hear himself, even when this phonecase on the phone. BTW, some kind of problem with echo cancellation under UT!

                                There was recently a solution to this problem on the Pixel 3a. Can this solution also be implemented for the OP3(T)? Or was there already another solution here. Thanks.

                                  I have the "echo on the caller's end" problem also... I find using earbuds seems to solve the problem... ymmv.
