Installer configs: Beta test
-
@flohack Did you mean absolute path?
-
@thomas-k8s doesnt need to be absolute path, if your terminal is in Downloads and your file is in downloads than you just need to do.
ubports-installer -f dumpling.yml
it worked fine on cheeseburger anyways.
-
@phoenixlandpirat thanks I tried for dumpling but failed by that way
-
@thomas-k8s which installer are you using? deb? snap? appimage?
-
@flohack
My OS:Mac OS X 10.15.7
App version:0.8.8beta
Last login: Mon May 31 19:07:30 on console

info: Welcome to the UBports Installer version 0.8.8-beta!
info: device detected: dumpling
warn: The device dumpling is not supported! -
@thomas-k8s Okay sorry to say but maybe the MacOS variant does not recognize the cmdline parameter at all. We got very few users with MacOS
-
@flohack Well done. I guess I could try another os. Thanks for your hard work
-
I tried again in ubuntu 2004(virtualbox), but no lucky the installer crashed "error : core:download
-
@flohack Building image for dumpling was failed on #124 and #124
-
@thomas-k8s i had a weird error something similar to that show up where a window poped up asking if i should ignore or retry, but the installer was working in the background, so I just left it, and it installed
-
@phoenixlandpirat Yes, I got the same error, and if you have 5t device .you may try Ubuntu but I have to say you will be failed by running installer. The image url was not correct βcause the building process was failed these days. You can download them manually and rewrite url in dumpling for recover.img
-
@thomas-k8s we are changing the links to the images now to static links, so with the next update that should be gone.
-
Windows doesn't recognize command line parameters it seems.
Used my Ubuntu laptop and it worked flawlessly.
Thank you for the amazing work so far! -
@flohack Hi I installed the latest version of Ubuntu TOuch using the installer.
I have 2 issues.
-
The Updater is always checking for updates, on the PinePhone and Op3 it only checks for a little while then tells me software is up to date, does the OP5 properly check for a system update atm?
-
I tried calling someone using the OP5. and I'm able to receive and call others, however I hear no voice, and they hear none back.
-
-
@phoenixlandpirat Humm incall audio should be fixed, strange. The other thing is, did you switch on download updates only on WiFi?
-
@flohack Auto Download has "When on WiFi" selected Channel shows "Development".
I think maybe it just takes longer to check then the OP3 and PinePhone for some reason?
Audio issue defo is an issue tho I called myself so from PinePhone to OP5 and I answered and it didn't work, and asked a friend to call me and they text me saying they couldn't hear me, I couldn't hear them either, put the sim back into the OP3 and we could hear eachother again.
-
Guys I managed to get one build done now with our CI, its still a bit strange, the next one failed again... Can you update your devices and try calll audio again? Thanks!
-
This post is deleted! -
@flohack Hi Flo I updated via the ubports installer, but it still isn't doing call audio correctly, I dont think its my sim or anything because it does call through, I can answer and make calls, but I dont hear any audio on the phone nore does my voice get heard from the OP5.
The audio when you ring doesn't work either, so it seems like an audio switch over thing, here's the details of the build and I'm using GiffGaff as my service provider if that helps any.

@phoenixlandpirat @vince1171 just tried it out and does not see any issue with todays build. Can you try again ? Also he will try to contact you
