Although I enjoy my OnePlus One, I noticed its telephone connection is terrible. That didn't make sense to me (it's newer than the Nexus 4, which I used previously but only had 3G available) and yet the connection quality was the same, and considerably worse than that of the Fajita. It didn't really make sense.

Then I read this unfortunate article from January.

So it is quite possible that the OPO is locked out of the 4G network due to T-Mobile's constant desire to have people upgrade their phones. While it's tempting to shop for a OP5 now that the installer is in beta, I am going to try switching carriers before buying another phone.

That does sound like a carrier problem, and a local one at that. Over here in the Netherlands, no such problem exists with T-Mobile.

            I'm so dumb.

All this time (I've had this phone for weeks) I've been concerned about the signal strength, the voice quality... I can't believe what the problem was. While roaming this forum, I got bored and decided to check the settings.

It was set to 2G the whole time.

I just got off a crystal clear call.
            I am so embarrased.
            Marking solved.

@totalrando I suspect you are not the only one to have ever done something very similar with an issue 😉 Look on the bright side you solved the issue. Job well done.

Exactly! And you told us about it, so others in the same situation may find your problem as well as the solution. Win-win! 👍
