Ok, so I think I broke Anbox.

I figured I could run Anbox without ADB so I just put the command into the phone. It did download and install... but then prompted me for a password and welp I lost the keyboard. So I figured it failed.

So imagine my shock when I tried to run the command again and it said it was installed.

Imagine my further shock when I now had all of the basic Android functions on my actual system tray instead of an Anbox launcher. Getting cocky, I downloaded F-Droid and tried to install it in terminal from the Downloads folder. Said it did it.

But no F-Droid appeared. So now I'm wondering what type of frankenstein thing I've created and I was just wondering how to uninstall it and start over with the sudo command.

haha this is exactly what I've done, except I did everything through an adb shell from a host.

Sincerely sympathize with your feelings of shock, I felt exactly the same lol. What the hey is going on in my ubports.

Will let you know if I find a solution, I'm at the same point, wondering where F-Droid is.

"anbox-tools apps-list" from a command line doesn't list it on the OPO.

I've run out of time for today on this.

I uninstalled anbox according to the instructions here https://xray2000.gitlab.io/anbox-unstall/

It seems like I'll be left with zombie android system icons on my app tray as a reminder never to flirt with other OSes again lol.

@arwhet I ended up migrating my music, games and contacts to a cloud folder and reinstalling UT to simplify getting everything back. I'll think about Anbox once they're done with the 20.04 upgrade. I'm in no rush to use one stupid little authenticator app.

@totalrando Anbox might be closer to testing, there are details on a telegram group in the main post about it.

btw, are there any UT or Oneplus One power user things I might not be aware of? Interesting Libertine use cases?

I've only recently found Krisscode's ssh tutorial after using UT on and off (and supporting people who were using it as a daily driver) for years. It's very well written.

@arwhet I basically use my OPO for everything except video calling (one day, one day.) I really need to get the keyboard and wireless adapter going, but I use it for my calls, my files (I keep a mega account with a webapp), play the old Sega games on it (27MB for a run and jump game vs 240KB? I'm all about the space). It also does work tracking and takes my notes. Also, it's my phone. Basically I am always on it.
