        Though the Nexus 4 was my "gateway drug" into Ubuntu Touch, I am curious, now that I have the OPO and 3G is almost worthless here, is there a way to run a LAMP installation or something similar on it? I'd love to repurpose it as a nameserver.

          For this particular use case, I guess you can "break the system".
          I mean, you won't need updates and you'll run a very old kernel so I guess security is not a concern if it is then do not try this that's a very bad idea.

          So if it is just to tinker and do it, go ahead the easiest way I see would be to use apt after setting the partition RW. You'll also need to extend the usable space as the partition is almost full on many devices.
