Battery Icon doesn't change after plugging the phone in

The icon just stays red/white the percents are going up. Phone is charging but there isn't any indication of it being plugged in. Is there a fix for that?

@skajmer Indeed, battery is charging normally, but there's no indicator on the screen yet.
