CalDav calendar will not appear as a calendar

On Nextcloud I have a caldav calendar. On my android device it syncs just fine.
In "settings" on my UBPorts tablet I have added the Nextcloud caldav account, and turned on the "linkage" to the UBPorts calendar application. When I tap on the sync icon in the calendar application I see the little popup that says that the sync completed. But, the Nextcloud caldav calendar never appears as a calendar to select in the UBPorts calendar application.
In case this helps, I see this in the sync-monitor.log file, don't know what is meant by the message below that says, "Account with empty sources!: 0":
