As I sit here waiting for my third attempt to get a used 3a, I am now wondering if the phone will automatically mount as a storage device, like my Nexus 4 does. My Pinephone doesn't (yet?), so it occurred to me to ask, especially since Google phones don't take SD cards. TIA.

As you can see here https://devices.ubuntu-touch.io/device/sargo/ MTP is said as "working" so yes, it will work.

I'll add that while MTP should be on from first uTouch start on your device, screen must be active, phone unlocked, in order to mount it on a computer.

And only five folders can be accessed this way, documents, downloads, music, pictures and videos, for security reasons.
