I was given a Pro5 with an old canocial image so I downloaded the ubinstaller on my Kubuntu 17.10 machine. The installer detects my phone i hit the switch to ub ports button then the phone reboots and stays on a white screen that says “Meizu powered by Ubuntu and thats it. So i thought that it was installing something so i left it alone. After about 2 hours it still has not done nothing. The phone is on developer mode. What am I doing wrong?

Have a look here, read it, this should help you.
The files are still available to download if needed.

I have tried using the UBinstaller and for me on my OnePlus One it did not work at all. I have also tried using the mdt with slightly more success. So the only thing that has worked for me is to install UBPorts via the server image. Two lines in your terminal window and then leave it to do its magic.
