extract the content of this file: boot.img-zImage -> kernel code
-
Someone who can guide me, I try to extract the source code of a kernel, and I try to do it by doing the following: here,
but I still haven't been able to continue trying to extract the content of this file: boot.img-zImage
I would appreciate any guidance -
@geoeducativa ,
I have a doubt, if someone who really knows can clear it.
when unpack boot.img
these files are obtainedboot.img-base boot.img-cmdline boot.img-pagesize boot.img-ramdisk.gz ----> ramdisk boot.img-zImage ----> kernelthe kernel source code is inside that file: boot.img-zImage
or boot.img-ramdisk.gz
or even both, but the source code must be extracted from which file -
@geoeducativa
Could this be to any help?https://support.zte.com.cn/support/news/NewsDetail.aspx?newsId=1004862

@rondarius ,
Thank you for helping me, I will try to review the site, see what I can use from there -
@rondarius ,
I need to create a device tree, a provider and a kernel to create ROMs
Could you provide me with all the links of the same device.
thanks in advance -
@geoeducativa said in extract the content of this file: boot.img-zImage -> kernel code:
the kernel source code is inside that file: boot.img-zImage
or boot.img-ramdisk.gz
or even both, but the source code must be extracted from which filemost definitely not. the source code has been used to generate this binary image. but there is no realistic way of going back to the source from the binary. you have to find the source elsewhere

I provide this link: [https://support.zte.com.cn/support/news/NewsDetail.aspx?newsId=1004862](link url)
I think I can start from here. -
@geoeducativa
I think I have found data boot and recovery. I don't think there is a vendor partition because the phone is to old to have one. -
@geoeducativa , another candidate kernel,
I will try to adapt this kernel to it: z5s_mini_H113 -
@geoeducativa ,
other : Generic Kernel android-4.4.y
