@sosixyi I think there's some code useful but device is old and the port needs people.

There's an experimental Halium 7.1 port for Google Nexus 5, that is about 80% finished, but has been quite abandoned 18 months ago.
So maybe this can be resumed for a migration to 20.04, that I don't know... (?)

@rugby - there are no updates that I am aware of. I don't think it will end up getting ported to Focal, unless someone outside of the usual suspects does some heavy lifting in a porting effort (which entails the arduous task of backporting systemd into the kernel, just for starters). A nine year life span for a smart phone is about as long as one can hope for these days, but probably time to put these beloved devices into their final resting places.

Hi all! I've ported focal to OpO, with quite some stuff working. If anybody wants to fork my work for the N5 they're free to do so from my GitHub. (github.com/muhammad23012009)

Yes, but you need to realise that this marking is very old and no longer particularly relevant. It does not outweigh the much more recent information from Cibersheep: the device is old and the port needs people.

I am also one of the many users who own a Nexus 5.
I had bought it in 2020 to install Ubuntu Touch, since it was clearly promoted as a reference phone from UBports.
I'm waiting for official confirmation of its discontinuation before getting a new one (OnePlus5, or Redmi Note 9 Pro).

But who knows...? Maybe some good news can come to us?
That said, it is clear that this device is 10 years old this year and that no custom rom still supports it to my knowledge....

Oh yes, it certainly is. And this needs to be changed. But changes like this one don't make themselves.
