A while ago there was a topic about the Battery Charge State and there was some patch to improve it on some devices, but you need to switch to the Dev Channel before you can apply it so I did accordingly.

Over the past month I did not have any issues untill yesterday when my phone suddenly rebooted itself and that got me thinking :

      • Do I need to report this somehow ?
      • Or does the phone have some kind of background process running which does that for me ?
      • If I need to report this to the developers : What are the right steps to do so ?

Having updates to install each weekend is fun! πŸ˜‰

      My phones :

      • BQ Aquaris E5 HD Ubuntu Phone Edition - Ubuntu Touch 16.04 LTS
      • ZUK Z2 Pro - ZUI Android 8.x
      • Xiaomi Mi 9T - Jolla SailFish 3.4.x Community Build

      P.S. : I am NOT a developer! ;)

@nero355 said in Sudden reboot on Dev Channel : What do I need to do to report all the details ?!:

Do I need to report this somehow ?

Not immediately. If it just happened once, it might be due to any combination of factors that would be too difficult to reproduce. The best bug reports contain instructions by the one reporting it to reproduce the bug.

Or does the phone have some kind of background process running which does that for me ?

There is no process running in the background for auto-reporting bugs on Ubuntu Touch.

If I need to report this to the developers : What are the right steps to do so ?

Head over to the UBports project's issues tracker on GitHub. Search to check if the issue has already been reported. If it has, add a +1 like to the original report. If it has not, open a new issue, respecting the template given. You will need a GitHub account to do any of this.

Things to add to the report include relevant logs. What logs exactly can vary from issue to issue. If you are in luck someone will ask for a specific log and also tell you where to find it.
