I missed the last Q&A unfortunately so have caught up with the blog. I have my answer for the way forward (or direction) in some sense that has pleased me:

Florian emphasized again that we plan to move to a much smaller range of devices which are ‘supported’ in terms of having the backing of the core team. With the resources we have, choices must be made and our efforts have to focus on a manageable number of devices which are used by a significant number of people and perform really nicely. If you just bought a device which is only used for UT by ten people on the planet, we can’t justify a focus on it. Having phones with excited maintainers who have a good dialogue with their users is very good for the community. We want every device to have that.

        Thank you all.

Long before the debate about "which devices are going to be supported", which will no doubt cause heads being held in hands and gnashing of teeth, I would ask one question:

With the older devices would there still be a way to install "old" unsupported Ubuntu Touch and have access to the app store, or just certain apps????

I know if I thought, "oh I have a Motorola G6, I wonder if I could port to it?" and then amazingly found the ability and time to do it and progress the port, only a limited amount of users picked it up, then it would probably drop off the installer. However I see that this is kind of the way open source and hobbying works, so I would hope also this would still happen.:beaming_face_with_smiling_eyes:
