Getting Ubuntu Touch to run on a Pi looks a really interesting project, so thanks to all those working on it.

I have tried setting up image #884 on a Pi 3B with the 7" touch screen, but have come up against what appear to be some long-standing problems.

First was the Timezone problem, which I got past using the advice given in this forum back in April 2020, but I have not managed to get past the "Long swipe from the left edge to open the Application Drawer" stage of the demo. It just does not respond.

So, is there a way to fix this?

I am also curious about why the phone app is included in the Pi image?

Thanks. I had no idea such a thing existed.
