Block/unblock phone numbers
-
Hi Florian,
Thanks for the hint.
If someone is interested in tracking this feature request just check this link below
https://github.com/ubports/dialer-app/issues/18 -
I remember this being both asked and answered in the days of Ask Ubuntu. The answer the was that there is not as such anything in the os but there is a program called F-Call that can be installed that may help you out here. I have not installed it myself but was going to. A new feature in the os itself would be the answer though.

Ok i found this app http://f-call-dev.blogspot.com/
It's not based on gpl license and you have to send your IMEI number to get passcode for 10 Euro. Definitely that's better than noting but sharing IMEI with not trusted vendors it's not a good idea due to security reasons.
I still think that this basic feature should be available in UT out of the box. -
I totally agrees, but hopefully by bringing something like this to the attention of the wider community and dev team, you never know it may be adopted and developed for our is. As like you say something in the settings (or even call settings) would be ideal.

Check out this link: https://github.com/ubports/dialer-app/issues/18 it will definitely help you.

@markhascole I created this ticket based on our discussion in this topic.
BTW is there is any way to prioritize this request? Who decides which bug/feature requests are pushed to the next OTA? The list of all open issues is quite huge so i assume that there must be some request prioritization.

@tricky We indeed did not find a good way to make this priorities. Github lacks a voting feature

@flohack Advising users to add a thumb-up reaction to an issue they would like to see priotitized, is a possible way voting could work. Then you can filter by reaction https://github.com/ubports/ubuntu-touch/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+sort%3Areactions-%2B1-desc

I agree with @DanChapman that we can use the "thumbs up" function for this. We actually have this also in our guidelines: https://docs.ubports.com/en/latest/contribute/bugreporting.html#check-if-the-bug-is-already-reported => The more "thumbs up" an issue will have, the more important it will become for us to solve.
So if you think this feature is very important, find people who flag it with thumbs up

I think that's a good solution. Thanks to this UT community can have some influence on the next update packages.
