MTP testing

Hello guys,
Just found that copying files into a Pixel 2 seems to be bugged, the transfer takes forever and also I am not sure the data is intact. Can some of you test this as well, e.g. Copy some pictures into the camera subfolder.
Both 2 and 2XL results are welcome. Thanks!

No one??

@flohack I will look into it tomorrow when I get a chance.

OK, tested it out using Windows 11. It managed to pick up the Pixel 2 and I started copying and pasting (rather than CLI). Slow to pick up folders and starts the transfer, but crashes out after about 10 minutes and nothing is transferred! Windows Explorer(!) takes for ever to access the folders and ADB in Windows Powershell won't pick up the device.
In my Ubuntu 20.04 VM, it seemed zippier, but the failed and froze the VM so I had to shut down.Nothing transferred.

Sorry, I've been very busy. I'll try it in the evening

Ok yeah that seems to be the same what I have @MrT10001 - Its really strange it seems to be the kernel USB driver stack. I will investigate further...

Ok, I tested it with a big file and it seemed to work but on the last MB I've got a libmtp-error. It said: could not send object info... And I could not be reached anymore.
On the other hand it was possible to copy a file from my Pixel 2XL to my PC -
@tobsend Thanks, yes direction to PC is fine always, I am just concerned why this happens only on this device that you cannot store files there. How should I get my music in
-
@flohack don't know if this is a joke.
But I would use syncthing. -
@fungie or wifitransfert
But that's not the point here ^^ -
@fungie No I mean there are workaround, but MTP MUST work in both ways so we have a bug here... Thanks everyone for testing!
