Installation on Meizu MX4 Android version
-
Hello,
I am trying to install Ubuntu touch on my Meizu mx4 (android version).
I have downgraded to Flyme 4.2.8.2A and unlocked the bootloader.
I have then been following the instructions for 'Legacy Android devices' listed on the official page (https://docs.ubports.com/en/latest/userguide/install.html).
My issue is that the Ubuntu touch 'old' rom of Step2 is not available to download anymore... hence I can not follow the instructions.
I tried to use ubports-installer without this 'legacy-android-devices' steps but it fails.Does anyone know a solution to this issue ? Or has a copy of the old Ubuntu touch that has been removed available for download ?
Thank you very much

Ubuntu has stopped supporting Ubuntu-Touch and given it over to community development. Probably why the links are unavailable.
Found this on the XDA-developers forum as certain revisions of the phone couldn't be unlocked. There is a link for a dual boot (do at your own risk) on the Chinese Meizu mx4.

@homerours Mhm... I thought that was fixed.
Let me check with Hannah otherwise I should have a backup of the rom image... -
@cibersheep Thanks a lot

@MrT10001 Thanks, that was my 'Plan B'. But it looks a bit risky indeed. I hope to be able to use the good old rom! -
@homerours
If your were able to unlock bootloader then using spflashtool should work flawlessly with 684.zip. -
@keneda Yes I believe so, but my issue is that 654.zip seems to have been remove from the server... I would be very grateful if anyone still has it and can make it available somewhere.

@homerours
Sadly i no longer have access to my PC (dead) where it could still be somewhere.
But i'm sure you'll get it thanks to @CiberSheep
