Unable to build for Note 4 N910F

Hi. I am following along the UBPorts guide on compiling UT for the Note 4. Aside from one minor adjustment to the kernel (relating to yylloc), I am just using tyg3rpro's sources.
It seems like there are mounting issues on boot, since I can only access telnet and dmesg complains about not being able to mount partitions in the read-only /root dir. I did also notice that none of the partitions in the fstab in trlte-common were being mounted, although I'm not sure if they're meant to.
Any help? Also a query to tigerpro about how he dealt with this
