galaxysmtd (Galaxy S Original / GT-I9000T) - CM13/Lineage14.1 Blobs and Kernels Available... is... could it be possible?!
-
I have a GT-i9000T running Lineage. Never have ported anything in my life. That being said, I have the Lineage device tree/blobs and from there will start reading the porting guide and see what magic can happen.
So far, here is the old XDA link with the the flashable ROM files.

Here is the device tree / blobs: https://github.com/galaxys1-nougat
Here is the kernel: https://github.com/galaxys1-legacy/android_kernel_samsung_aries
With this info, do you think porting is possible? Otherwise, would Marshmallow-based 6.1 be better? It SEEMS like there are at least possibilities here...
... if you think there are indeed possibilities, I will go ahead with trying to read guides, tinker, rage, fork things and not know what I'm doing on github, try again, maybe fail, maybe learn some new stuff... and maybe get a semi functional (calls/sms) ubuntu touch install on this device

@eirikr1848 Hi I understand you are not asking anyone to actually port this device. But since asking if s port is possible is only slightly different than asking for a port, I moved your post to Off Topic we per the reasoning in this post.

@eirikr1848 now as to the main question. With only 512 MB of internal RAM it will not be possible to get Ubuntu Touch to run on this device
-
@arubislander Dang, got it thank you! Looks like it will have to be PostmarketOS at some point. Sadness reigns.
Thank you!

It's still your time and effort so it's your own prerogative but given how old and low specced this device is, I think it's not worth it. UT runs fine on 1GB of RAM but struggles retaining apps open especially webviews or the browser. Also, you might be the only person who will use it

@kugiigi That makes sense. I had the original release on it a long time ago, then wiped it for LineageOS (Android 7.1.2) with a decent SD card and a lot of swapping.
Now - I cannot find the original release based on Ubuntu 13.x anymore sadly!
Was hoping to be able to use a new version... or even find the original ROM to flash haha.
