ATT (H2O) No Service with Nexus 5. Anything I can do?
-
Just got a Nexus 5 and it shows my USA based carrier (h2o which is att) in cell carrier name but doesnt seem to want to register or make calls. Why would this be?
-
However... I can send text messages. Hmmmm the plot thickens.

@777funk In the US, all of the providers have turned off 3g service and voice over LTE (VoLTE) is required for voice calls. Ubuntu Touch currently does not have VoLTE.
Search the forums for VoLTE to see the discussions.

So does this mean that UT is useless for voice calls in the US?
If so thats a fairly major drawback.

@777funk I have US Mobile which is T-Mobile GSM LTE. I am running a OP6T and can make and receive calls, send and receive SMS but no MMS. It is set to use the 2G network.

It is! It is, however, being worked on.
On the other hand, Nexus 5 will never support VoLTE, even when UT will. It doesn't have the hardware capability. -
