        Hello good folks ! Since RC 57 came to my pixel, my messages app shows a hundred (and counting) unread messages. Therefore I can't know effectively if I indeed missed anything. How can I mark everything as read ?

          @emphrath
          Unread messages should be seen in the Thread list of messaging-app ( the thread is bold in that case ), by opening it or deleting them, the counter should decrease

            @lduboeuf yes I know that. Except i'm not gonna go through a 100+ list of threads and patiently click on them to mark them read. I used to do it now and then because of a couple of threads I left unattended so as to clean my messaging launcher icon - but here there has been some regression where messages I have read are marked unread.
            EDIT: i just did the manual cleaning which was less of a chore I made it out to be. These messages where essentially 2FA verifications. Why ? Because usually I only look at the notification to grab the number - and erasing the notification does not mark the message as read. I think there's a real quality of life issue here - unless I came across a real RC update bug and clearing notifications indeed marked messages as read ; I can't remember - you should be able to mark all messages as read ( as you do on this forum) or maybe the notification system should be able to communicate a read message to messaging-app ?

              I'm afraid there is no quick fix for that. Maybe that counter will help you clean more often messaging-app 😉 ? But you can create a feature request to be able to mark all unread ( https://gitlab.com/ubports/development/core/messaging-app/-/issues ) and give us some propositions how it can be integrated in messaging-app UI ?
