@eheintzmann
hi an alternative is LineageOS.
https://download.lineageos.org/devices/surya/builds.
But I'm on a track before because during a trip abroad I changed networks and I no longer had a problem of disconnection... So I have to test with a card from another operator to see.... -
@eheintzmann When I have had issues on a UT install, I have gone back to stock Android WITHOUT relocking the bootloader and then started again. I have also wiped data and cache before going back. The issues ranged from the device locking with a pin that I had not set, no modem, no WiFi and so on..
-
@MrT10001 Thank you for your advice, I decided to follow it.
Yesterday I reinstalled UT. Now, let's see if there is an improvement in the coming days. -
@_Joao_ hi I tried with another operator it's the same I have disconnections.
-
My mum has the same issue on the Pixel 3a, but only with 20.04. I reported it a while ago on GitLab, but nothing has been done about it. I even asked what more info they needed from e.g. logs, but no response. But now I see this is happening on other devices as well, so seems like it's more widespread that I thought.
-
@Vistaus The Pixel 3a is known to exhibit spontaneous reboots, on 20.04. We haven't got a handle on it yet.

Strange that one of the devs on GitLab contradicted that, but oh well. My mum is coming over this weekend, so I'm able to provide more information for the devs if needed. Just let me know what information and the best place to post it.

Do you have a link to that interaction? I might be able to provide additional context in a more visible place for devs. The forums are mostly frequented by users such as you and me.

@Vistaus Ah, the title is misleading. It makes it look like the SIM card randomly locks, while the underlying issue is random reboots. Indeed the porter/maintainer has reported not experiencing this issue. That is why he asked if you were able to follow up with logs if provided the commands.

On Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC (surya), this issue has been reported here :

Hi @_Joao_
Can you find these files after your phone has crashed ?
/proc/last_kmsg
/sys/fs/pstore/*
-
yes but they are empty
-
@_Joao_ I upgraded to focal. Now, I can see the battery charge graph.
-
@eheintzmann that's cool, what's the procedure to switch to focal please?
-
Hi @_Joao_
I just chose the 20.04 focal development channel into the updater of the settings app (and I forced the reinstallation of all apps after the upgrade).
There are two (optional) updates a day in this channel. But now, after a week, I can see a few bugs.
- Camera and Barcode Readers apps does not work.
- Flashlight is not working via upper UT menu. (But sometimes it works with utorch)
- Sometimes Waydroid makes the phone crash.
-
@_Joao_
Please, forget what I've written about Camera and Barcodes apps :
I reinstalled Ubuntu Touch with the installer (wiping all data, using 20.04 Development channel). And now, all apps work fine on focal⦠-
@eheintzmann ok, the trick I found is to restart the phone before it does it on its own.
-
@eheintzmann hello, do you have any other reboot bugs since your last message?
-
@_Joao_ hello, sorry for the delay.
Yes, sadly, my phone still randomly reboot every day.
