Im running ubuntu touch and waydroid on a vollaphone 22. Battery started running down fast so i replaced it and it is even worse.

It happens even when not in waydroid. Is there something in ubuntu that could be causing this?

A quick update. My battery drained fast because at night I placed it on my wallet. One of the cash cards has some "i tag" tracking nonsense on it an when the phone is close enough it searches for the i tag url or something. It basically searches all night. . . . so in this morning its down to 10%.

          Seperating them sorts it . . . ☺

Do you mean it happens even if you reboot and haven't started a Waydroid app at all in that session?
Because if you just mean with the above that you are not using any Waydroid app at the moment, then Waydroid might still be the cause, since it keeps running in the background, unless you stop it with a helper app like Waydroid Stop.

Hi, it happens when ive booted up and not started waydroid. If i go to bed at 0000 on a battery of 80% its down to 10% when i get up at 0500 . . . 🤔

@Ken1971 As you can see, I don't have a Volla 22, so I don't know how the regular battery life is. But that does sound as if something is running it down.

Are you on 16.04? Have you configured apps to not auto suspend with the UT Tweak Tool?
Or are you running some Libertine application?
What is your Mobile Data on? 2G? 2G/3G? 2/3/4 G?
                Is bluetooth on?
                Is NFC on?
Does the display wake up each time you have a notification?

@Ken1971 at night I don't need data so I turn of wifi and mobile internet. The battery draining almost stops then like 10% or so.
My phone (Google Pixel) does not drain that much like yours when data is on. So it is not the solution to your problem but it helps to save some energy.

Thanks for all your responses. I checked the tweeking tool and everything is optimised for little drainage. The VollaPhone is normally one of the best in respect of battery — usually drains about 20% in 8 hours, now its about 1% every 2 minutes even with a new battery sent by Volla . . .

Ill contact them and update the forum . . . Thank again folks . . . Its a great community ☺

                        Hello @Ken1971,

                        Out of curiosity.
Are you using pure Ubuntu Touch? Or do you have a Volla OS installation?

Hi Bolly, I have a Vollaphone with Ubuntu Touch as the only system, and Waydroid within it.
