old phone, old laptop, old lady. love Ubuntu and so happy when i got an old phone that would run it! now i think i have a new phone and... :-) what about me? nothing much interesting really. retired after selling safety and industrial equipment for many years. have been a Ubuntu user - with a short bout on Debian - for about 23 years. i had a samsung nexus s, one of the first android phones and still my favourite. but it just got more and more intrusive and i'm not really a fruit person (i tried, really) and then UbuntuTouch. but the old nexus 5 is old, and really worse for wear too. thank you to everyone making this possible!

RE: Installer hangs at Fastboot is scanning for devices
Thank you! I'm using Debian 11 - I can't work Windows - and the recognition is...? spotty? I'll try to find another cable... seems to me the same thing happened before but i got up the next day and it just worked. Haven't had a new new phone since the Galaxy S4 so my cables are suspect anyway. Really appreciate the feedback.

RE: Email applications in UT
Good day,
I have the same, well, a similar wish. Except I have email I want to use and I'd like to be able to access it on the phone. I want nothing to do with google. i used GrapheneOS with K-9 Mail and Open Key Chain and it worked perfectly. But I wanted to use Ubuntu Touch. My email can be accessed on the web, although not the encrypted mail. I like to have my key only on my personal tools (Pixel 3a (possibly) and an old Thinkpad X220). Not a deal breaker but a nice email client would be great. Otherwise I am a extremely pleased with this OS on the Pixel 3a. But a nice email client... I use Evolution on the laptop, can't quite imagine it will show up on Ubuntu Touch though. Thanks for the place to have my say! -
