    • The camera and clock are malfunctioning

      Hello.

      I'm using the Sony Xperia X (F5121).
      UT 24.04-1.3

I haven't been here in a while, and I notice the forum has changed a bit. I hope this is the right thread.
I'd like to report the following issues since installing OTA 24.04-1. (These issues are still present in the current version 24.04-1.3.)

      1. Incorrect time zone when starting the device.
The time is displayed incorrectly after booting up, regardless of whether the “automatic” or “manual” setting is enabled.
It constantly displays UTC 0. However, my saved location is Berlin, which is UTC+1 and UTC+2 during daylight saving time.
All I have to do is open “System Settings” and click on “Time and Date.” The time then corrects itself automatically.

      2. The camera app only works when I first launch it.
When I launch the camera, everything works correctly at first. If I close the app and try to use it a second time later in the day, the screen remains black on the main camera.
If I switch to the selfie camera, it works correctly. I can then switch back to the main camera, but the screen remains black. I have to restart the device for the main camera to work again.

Thank you very much and best regards.

@DJac Both of these issues only started occurring for me after upgrading to version 24.04-1. But I'm sure the developers will find a solution.
Otherwise, I’m satisfied with UT on my Xperia. The only long-standing bug that hasn’t been—or can’t be—fixed is the streak in the main camera’s image when you zoom in too much. It isn’t visible in the photos in the gallery, but you can see it in the video. But as mentioned, this bug has been known for a long time.

      Hi everyone.
I didn't have to wait long to see it. This morning I turned on my phone, and now I'm getting the time zone error on version 24.04-1.3 (rc).
I shut down the phone again to see if the error would occur after a quick restart. Yes, it did.
I would have been surprised myself if the error had only occurred in the stable version. But we’re leaving no stone unturned.

@DJac No. My Focus hasn't vibrated yet.
      I rarely use my camera

@gpatel-fr Yes, I'm absolutely certain. I was using version 24.04-1.3 (stable) and had exactly that problem every time I booted up.
This morning I switched to the rc channel, and the problem no longer occurs. I've shut down and restarted my phone five times. I'll keep an eye on it over the next few days, though.

@messayisto The update channel. I was using “stable,” but I switched to “release candidate.” At least that solved the time zone issue. Thank you.
However, the problem with the camera still persists.
I’ve been experimenting. If I only use the selfie camera, everything works fine. I can close the app and reopen it, and everything works. But if I take just a single photo with the main camera, the screen stays black after restarting the app. I can switch to the selfie camera, and it continues to work. But I can’t switch back to the main camera. Now the image from the selfie camera is still displayed, it’s just upside down.

    • RE: Call for testing: Ubuntu Touch Focal OTA-4

      Hello.
I am using the Sony Xperia X (F5121)
      UT 20.04rc (2024-W03)
Error that I have noticed when using the device:

      • For incoming and outgoing calls, when mobile data is activated, the call still interrupts the mobile data connection. It cannot be re-established in the current session. A restart is required.
Everything is OK with a Wi-Fi connection.

      • Like Sander, I also don't see any charging information on my lock screen, even though it is activated in the Settings app.

      • Everything is OK when I start the camera app.
        The selfie camera works perfectly.
But with the front camera, a wide strip appears in the centre of the picture from halfway through the zoom.
It is not visible in the photos, but it is recorded in the video recordings.

@los-tioz said in Sony Xperia X loses Wifi Connection:

In addition, the phone now hangs when booting sometimes at the Sony logo and sometimes at the Ubutu touch start page. It takes sometimes 4 attempts until it boots up.

The startup problems have been resolved with the update OTA-25 v2.
Has anyone updated Ubuntu Touch from version 16.04 to 20.04? Is the problem with the Wlan also present there?

      Hello friends.

After a long time I find the time to write again. How is the problem with you?
Since the upgrade at the beginning of April to OTA-25 I have the feeling with my Sony Xperia X (F5121), the problem with the wifi module has become even worse. Now I have to restart the phone even more often during the day. In addition, the phone now hangs when booting sometimes at the Sony logo and sometimes at the Ubutu touch start page. It takes sometimes 4 attempts until it boots up.
