Hi thanks for this good advice, I know that Ubuntu Touch will be good. I'll keep an eye on the news channel, it's definitely better. On the subject of Bluetooth and FM radio, I will probably have to accept restrictions. Even with alternative Android roms there are problems. If I want to go back to UT I would have to downgrade to 10 again

@DPITTI I don't know why you got upset this time, but as I told you you are free to use what ever you want. Using and testing UT is a personal choice and if you are not satisfied with your experience then you can just put another OS. You are welcome to come back and try out UT whenever you want. Have a great day and I hope you find the right OS for your needs.

@13lenar Install the Last Android 10 Version ( Fastboot 4,4 GB ) for Merlin and Check Imei and Calls and SMS with Ubuntu. https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/miui/merlin/stable/V12.0.10.0.QJOEUXM/ It's best to turn off all switches regarding locations and Google when installing Miui Android 10. Then switch on developer mode and run Ubuntu. Then at least theoretically everything should work. I used to have the device too, but now my sister is using it. @nibzy26 Hey. Miui is the name which Xiaomi use for their stock ROMs. Here are the official stock ROMs (Miuis) for Redmi note 9pro https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/archive/miui/joyeuse/ Here a link which contain link for the other miatoll devices if you are not with joyeuse. https://github.com/ubuntu-touch-miatoll/ubuntu-touch-miatoll/blob/main/FIRMWARE.md Best of luck!

@Rdkfx23 I would recommend to try the following version since it works for the most people in the community: 12.0.2.0.QJZMIXM This is the joyeuse version which most people report to work properly. Please try it and let me know . I personally use: V11.0.3.0.QJZEUXM And it also works quite well. Also if you want you can join our telegram group for more support on miatoll devices. https://t.me/UTForMiatoll Best of luck.

@developerbayman Thank you for the info. I managed to build the stable version of miatoll port today . And from tomorrow I will start working on focal. I will try droidian too since I am also interested more in having closer desktop feeling on my phone , but I also want to try to maintain miatoll for UT too. I believe with focal and libertine containers we can have good desktop feeling on UT too

@Lakotaubp Thank for the replay I got an answer of what is the problem. The kernel patch version is higher than 288 and that's why the libertine does not work. Unfortunately the port is not maintained anymore , so I will try to build the port with proper kernel patch version to make it work and if I have time I will try to migrate the port on 20.04

I suppose this is about the device https://devices.ubuntu-touch.io/device/joyeuse not having a Focal release available (if this is about the Note 9 Pro version). Unfortunately, the porter has discontinued support and the device is no longer maintained. There has been some initial work on this done to support Focal, but never finished. So at this moment you options are to: stick with the outdated UT Xenial, try Droidian instead, or use Android, e.g. Lineage OS v20 Or you can revert to the stock ROM for sure.

@MrT10001 said in Redmi note 9s doubt with Ubuntu Touch: @Vistaus Yes, my Redmi 9 works fine. From experience, warranty is not worth the paper it is printed on, especially on a device over a year old. I have taken the leap of faith on many a device. But I don't currently have the Redmi Note 9S, only the regular Redmi 9 with Ubuntu Touch, so if I were to buy the 9S now, it would be new and not over a year old. That makes a difference warranty-wise.

@MrT10001 I 100% agree with that, but I guess Xiaomi users are still lucky it is at least possible. There are vendors which won't let you "own" a purchased device at all (in a sense of doing whatever you want with it).

I have noticed greater success using the fastboot version over the recovery version then just running the batch file from the command line also many versions have a broken sensors idk what the deal is there so make sure your screen rotates before installing UT

So actually the absolute best way to recover xaiomi devices is to use a xaiomi fastboot recovery file it has a script that will install thru fastboot just run the script i have had pretty much zero luck trying to flash using recovery methods

@siriusf SOLVED! Steps: i) Follow the instructions in the links bellow to use the bypass tool (python script). You will need to press the up an down buttons so that Windows can detect the device. After running the bypass python script I obtained this and the device was shut down. [image: 1681669338538-screenshot-2023-04-16-155845.png] ii) I did NOT turn on the device. Then I use the ROM file (fastboot) provided here https://xiaomistockrom.com/xiaomi-redmi-9a and the Mediatek SP Flash tool with this instructions to flash to the device https://xiaomistockrom.com/xiaomi-redmi-9a

@mecej2007 None of these apps you mentioned have support for Ubuntu Touch's push notification system, so you won't get any notifications from them

The recording affects some other halium 10 devices too. See this issue for a temporary fix https://github.com/ubports/ubuntu-touch/issues/2022 About the low audio, never had it myself, make sure you don't have the camera app in the background when playing audio, or don't play from multiple sources at once. A quick fix is also restarting pulseaudio with pulseaudio -k instead of rebooting
