**Hey all. **
I'm considering buying a new / unused Nexus 5 or OnePlus One and installing Ubuntu touch. Do you have any advice regarding privacy, bugs, installation, and the community? Thanks a bunch.

Yes this is the rabbit hole you are looking for.
Take the blue pill or the red one?

I'll quote the character, "Proximo" from "Gladiator": Red.
I was thinking about following these guides before I considered Utouch:

I'm not going full Purism phone, but I'd like to at least TRY to not use Google on a Nexus / OnePlus One.

@pomilui Think you had all the info you need from lionelb on telegram last night about Ubports. I can only second that. Great community, rapidly improving OS and devices.
On the phones having had both the OPO has far better battery life but both are good places to start. Depends on your budget have a read and get the best fir the money you have available. Keeping in mind the age of the device with the move to 16.04 stable just round the corner. -
Yo. I'm back. I've decided to go with OnePlus One, but I certainly can't use Verizon as a carrier. Any suggestions on who still can provide for it?
I may make a compromise and stick with Verizon to use Lineage as an OS, downside: I would become a product.
Or, I could simply use a SIM card from an old Iphone 4. Any thoughts / advice would be greatly appreciated.
