        Hi
once again my Meizu pro 5 doing nothing when trying to reboot using ubports installer
it is either stuck on fastboot mode screen or just the loading screen .

The installer continually displays Booting into recovery image...
error: Devices: Error: Fastboot: Unknown error: downloading 'boot.img'...
        OKAY [ 0.782s]
        booting...
        FAILED (remote failure)
        finished. total time: 0.782s

It also displays the same when using terminal sudo ubport-installer

i've tried updating the installer but it just tells me it's up to date

any ideas as i'm at a loss now and have had to revert to using my s7 on android as my pro 5 is useless at the minute ??

        Thanks

          Could you flash TWRP,
          If it works,fastboot is OK,
          Wipe it and try again.

If not you flash TWRP,and a saved UB, then flash a UB recovery,to get ota updates back.
          Some have kept backups.

@zx81 do you have PC with 16.04? You can still flash it with:

            ubuntu-device-flash --server=https://system-image.ubports.com touch --device=turbo --channel=ubports-touch/16.04/rc

I had to do this with my Pro 5 as well, as no other method worked.

@zx81 OR you can download this clean install backup of 16.04 STABLE, unpack it on your PC and then restore it with TWRP recovery. After just flash Ubuntu recovery with fastboot and you should be just fine.

@zx81 please have a look at: https://forums.ubports.com/topic/1599/how-to-manually-upgrade-from-ota-3-to-ota-4/7 - this way I was able to update without a computer so without the installer.

@stefano Hi, I have just typed this command ubuntu-device-flash --server=https://system-image.ubports.com touch --device=turbo --channel=ubports-touch/16.04/stable thinking that my phone is not connected to a laptop... but it was. I have flashed UBPorts OTA-4 on my Meizu Pro 5. Thanks a lot!

I was never able to put my phone into fastboot with the command from the computer - either from adb or from the installer. I always had to do it manually by pressing volume down + power button. I don't know what's wrong with my phone.

@mihael said in Meizu pro 5 doing nothing when trying to reboot:

If anything is wrong with your phone, the same is the case with mine. I have to put it into fastboot manually too.

Maybe that is why I was not able to use the installer from the computer - because the installer, at one moment, needs to reboot the phone into another mode and I was not fast enough to do it manually - I tried it three times πŸ™‚ - then I used the system-image-cli method to do the upgrade.

@mihael, @Stefano I am curious now. I'd your Pro 5 originally come with Ubuntu Touch or Android/FlymeOS? Mine is a 64GB FlymeOS edition I bought from Amazon Italy.
