How to use a slimport to HDMI adapter?

I need some advice please. I've connected my Nexus 4 to the HDMI port on my TV using a slimport to HDMI adapter cable. In the main, all works as expected. This arrangement provides a large screen display with a touch interface via my Nexus 4. I've been using this setup to view Gallery photos and the images are stunning. I have one problem however.
I've been unable to discover how to scroll horizontally from one image to the next. Does anyone know how to do this? If so, please could you share the secret with me.

Getting fed up of having to scroll through the same posts each visit?
