Nexus 7 (flo) keeps coming out of standby unprompted
-
I've observed this on OnePlus One, running OTA-7. Happens on the device I left stock as well as the one on which I encrypted home. Believe it may have happened on OTA-6 as well, but I can't recall for sure, and I don't recall if I saw it on earlier releases or not. Have not yet observed it on Nexus 5, but I've not been keeping close tabs on it.

@ziggutas Yes mine does it to. Did wonder if it was something to do with notifications but no appears random.
-
@Lakotaubp Ah, sorry about that. Restarted mine and it's still doing it. Guess that means it may be a bug?
I'm just a user, not very technical, but if it needs a bug report filing I will give it a go. It may take some time as I'll need to research the how to's, but should be ok.
Anyway, the problem is only a minor annoyance, nothing serious.

@ziggutas This is the info on bug reporting have a read come back if you have any issues https://docs.ubports.com/en/latest/contribute/bugreporting.html

[it] seems to happen about every six minutes or so
That frequency would seem to indicate it is something running in the background at that interval. Do you by any chance have Dekko installed?
-
@Lakotaubp Thanks for the info, I'll have a look.
-
@arubislander Yes I have installed Dekko 2 but I habitually close all apps before going into standby. Would it be worth uninstalling Dekko (tomorrow) and seeing if the problem persists?

No need for such drastic measures. What you could do though is open the Terminal app and after typing
$ stop ubuntu-push-client
That should stop Dekko from checking for notifications until you reboot the device.
Alternatively, you could disable all notifications for the Dekko app in the System Settings and see if that helps.

This bug is already reported: https://github.com/ubports/ubuntu-touch/issues/291
There is another report linking it to the sync of the contacts and calendar, but I'm not able to find that one right now...
-
@UniSuperBox It would seem links are not working on the forum since the maintenance round...
-
@arubislander Which links ? The git hub one above works for me . Unless I've miss understood.

I tried both of those measures one at a time but no difference; tablet still wakes up intermittently.

The bug report indicated that turning off wifi would stop this behaviour and it does, which is useful. I tried turning off notifications for calendar for a while but that made no difference.

O, then it must be an issue on my end then...
