        Hi, I have an issue.
When I have the bluetooth earphones connected and I receive an incoming call, the ringtone doesn't ring from the device but from the earphones. Is there any way to fix this?
I currently use ubuntu touch 16.04 (OTA-7) on Nexus 4. Using an older version of ubuntu (ubuntu touch 15.04) on the same device, I didn't have this problem.
        Any help would be appreciated.

            Hi @apost02 ,
I can only confirm that I've experienced the same behavior on my OnePlus one(16.04 OTA-7). When i connect my BT speaker to the phone, ringtones from incoming calls or sms are played on that speaker not on my phone.

This might just be me being a bit dim but isn't that what is meant to happen. When playing music through BT speaker all the music goes to/through the BT speaker. Why would this be different for a ringtone or notification beep.
This happens when I use UT and android through my bluetooth speaker. At least for notifications as the android phone never rings.
As I said sorry if I'm missing the point or getting your question wrong.

I would say that it simply works in the same way as on my Ubuntu desktop. When i choose external device instead of my internal speakers all sound is played there. I'm also not really convinced if that's a bug.

Just tried this on an android phone I have laying around with a sim card in it. Works the same there as described in the OP. So I also do not think this is a bug.

                    Thanks for replying.
I don't know if it's considered a bug or not, but it is certainly a problem. When I use bluetooth earphones, I have it always connected to my phone. So when there is an incoming call, I want to be able to hear it without wearing the earphones. I tested it on android and windows phones and the ringtone rings from both the speakers and the earphones.

@apost02 I think right now, in 16.04, bluetooth headsets only work for streaming media. The HFP/HSP mode is not supported by the version of pulseaudio in 16.04 with the version of bluez in 16.04. It seems to only support A2DP streaming.

I don't think there is any way to work around these issues currently. Hopefully we can get newer versions of both included at some point, but it's a fair amount of work.

Perhaps your issue may be considered a separate bug to this. Please open an issue on https://github.com/ubports/ubuntu-touch/issues if one does not already exist for your problem.
