Nexus 5X Development

The Halium port is tracked here: https://github.com/Halium/projectmanagement/issues/17

@unisuperbox Thanks for the reply! Do you have any idea, however vague, of when it might be finished if at all?

As the great Florian Leeber once said, "Porting is a strange sadism"
For one, I don't think any ETA on any port to any device will ever hold true. So many things come up during development that it's just not going to stay around.
Right now, the problem that I'm having with the 5X is that it just won't run software correctly. I can only get a maximum of one SSH session connected, and that's only if I disable every service. If it boots normally, I can't even connect to SSH. I'm completely at a loss as to what could be happening.

Alright, thank you! I'd help but I don't know anything other than bash and I'm not even proficient with that yet, haha! Good luck and thank you again!

But, to see things from the bright side, Nexus 5X is booting already, you can see GUI and stuff and it seems to have WiFi and radio? According to a glimpse of screen I saw today
So cross fingers for 5X

Ok i crossed my fingers hahaha

Is anyone still considering working on this?
I haven't done any serious development but would love to see Ubuntu Touch development continue with newer devices and the 5x seems to be an affordable well spec'ed option - though it does have a history of hardware failures
Any ideas on how to spur development on this vein? Are there any good bounty platforms that could be used?

Hmm yes there will be work done for 5X, but tbh we lack resources. Its not a matter of money, just a matter of time for our guys. I dont have the latest state but I can try to update you here

@Flohack Hi, just checking in to see if Nexus 5x now is supported?
-
Please see https://devices.ubuntu-touch.io for a list of supported devices

As this is an old thread and Dalton has already answered this question I think it's time to lock this topic.
