No SIM/GPS detected on Nexus5
-
Hello Everyone
I just installed the ubtouch on my Nexus5.I am facing two main issues:
The first: my phone is not able to detect any sim. I am under Giffgaff, and I had no similar problem before. The second: the gps seems laggy, slow and inaccurate.I tried with the rc, the stable and the devel channel.
Any clues?

@jolek78 https://ubports.com/blog/ubports-blog-1/post/ubuntu-touch-ota-10-release-239 this may help explain the GPS

Reset system from settings

@Rodrigo, that is not necessary.

I flashed the original android stock image, and then to ubuntu touch. Apparently there was a problem with radio.img. Regarding the gps, I hope the solution will appear soon. The system is pretty amazing...Fabio

@jolek78 Sorry to reply to a post that is a few months old but mine has also started saying no sim. Seemed to follow install and use of of Skype webapp (but poss. coincidence) A restart cures it - for a while. In my case, the first thing I did upon receiving the phone was to flash UBPorts. I wonder what stock image you flashed - the latest here: https://developers.google.com/android/images perhaps? If so I will do the same. Cheers

@rf PS I should prob add that the phone was new (well, freshly unwrapped), so I would be unlucky if it is hardware. Uninstalled Skype (no help) reflashed from stable to devel (no help). Cheers

In case it helps anyone else, the intermittent 'no sim' on a new Nexus 5 was in my case not due to software or firmware, but lateral movment of the sim card in the tray. I noticed many people who had this problem mentioned they used an adaptor (nano micro). I also do. A piece of sellotape across the back and folded over the shortest long edge (i.e. adjacent to the 45 deg notch) solved the problem perfectly.
