Telegram notifications not clearing down once read
-
I have Telegram installed on my pc and also on both my E5 (Ubuntu) and Samsung S5 (Android) phones. When I use my pc to message, I can see the notifications go of on both phones. When I view messages on the pc the Android phone stops flashing (new or unread Telegram message. However, the E5 does not stop flashing. I have to physically go into the Touch phone and either vies the message of clear down the notification.
Is there a setting that I can turn on to stop the Telegram notifications from flashing on the Touch phone when the message is read/actioned in another device, like the Android does?

Hello,
no unfortunately this is not possible in this way. Telegram on Ubuntu is not integrated in the same way as it is with Android. The notifications coming from the push service just give you "a new message has arrived" with some details, there is no info that the message has been read.
Also the App is not running in the background when the display is switched off, its completly suspended. Even it it was running, it could not tell the notifications helper to "mark read" a certain notification. The API for this is not there.
I also noticed that the "unread message counter" on the Telegram icon is not always updating.

That is a great shame as if it will not work, it is one area where our good old phone os is behind what is out there currently. I personally feel that things like this should work.
