      Hello,
unfortunately it seems that Canonical is not going to enable aethercast on bq 4.5, E5 HD and Meizu MX4 (see the last paragraph here).

Do you think it would be possible to crowdfund this development?
      How much would it cost?

We don't know how many people bought these phones but I think many of them would pay something to have this feature. I would do it for sure.

      More info here:
      https://lists.launchpad.net/ubuntu-phone/msg20870.html

      Thank you for any answer.

        Hi,

This is something we might be able to do, but I do currently only own a bq E4.5 so I might need to buy the bq E5 and meizu MX4, and i also do not own an miracast (microsoft cast device) device so i'll might need to have one of them to.

I will try building it for my E4.5 and see where i go from there.

humm, I didn't know the android source for all these devices was closed source... that will cause some grief for me, it will not be as easy as i hoped.

                Hi Mario,

I have contacted simon fels to see if he can help with the source code.

Do you think it would be possible to get this running on the Nexus 5?

I'm already working on the Nexus 5 source, I will release the a new version on the later today.

Ubuntu Android version 5.1 is out on the devel_stable and devel_rc-proposed channels, but it's still a really unstable build, and it's just for testing (not daily driver). This should have the wireless display patch needed, I haven't tested it since i don't have an Miracast device (microsoft cast).

                      Hi Mario,

I will test the nexus build this week. I have a number of miracast dongles.

Does bluetooth work on the nexus 5 now?
