        Hi,
I am trying to install Ubuntu in my tablet, by both means of the UBports tool and the command line.
The UBport tool fails and says:
failed to get download permission for partition 'recovery'

If I try the command line, in the first command to try, fastboot oem unlock, I get stuck. I get the messages on the tablet screen (do you want to proceed? Press volume up to say "yes"...), but I do not get any response from the tablet. The fastboot command gets lock in my computer (Ubuntu 18.04 LTS).

I have activated the developer mode, USB debugging and I have disabled the OEM lock.

Apparently, I am not able to unlock the OEM, does anyone know how I can unlock it?

        Thanks

@Marathon2422 That's why I asked what's on the tablet. Something seems odd from their description. Might just be my brain failing and being tired.😄

                  Go back a few steps
Make sure adb / fastboot ( tools) are installed and working .
Are you trying to go from android to ubports
Or , Ubuntu- Touch to ubports.
This kind of info will help others to help you

                    hi,
I am trying to go from Android 5.1 to Ubuntu Ports. The tablet had Ubuntu installed.
I am trying to follow the instructions in https://docs.ubports.com/en/latest/userguide/install.html, but it gets stuck and says "port is open. Trying to sync with the target..."
The screen shows a red progress bar that says "download DA 100%".

                      Hi,
                      finally, it works. Main reasons:

                      • I skipped the step with the Smart Phone Flash tool
                      • The program modemmanager was installed in the system

So, I had to uninstall the modemmanager program and I run SPFT with sudo. I had to change the USB port, but I was finally able to install Ubuntu in my tablet.
Thank you for all the support.
