On the edge channel, the camera is always crashing for me and even reboots the phone. Has anyone got the camera working on edge?
-
@kuleszdl Yes, camera is working
sudo umount /lib/udev/rules.d/70-android.rules && sudo umount /usr/share/apparmor/hardware/graphics.d/apparmor-easyprof-ubuntu_android && sudo umount /usr/share/apparmor/hardware/video.d/apparmor-easyprof-ubuntu_android sudo ubports-qa install xenial_-_gst-droid sudo apt install gstreamer1.0-droid nemo-qtmultimedia-plugins

I was able to fix the content hub bug by just removing these lines:
https://github.com/ubports/content-hub/blob/f0d91e8ad42536486fa291f8ede3964f8bb75c53/src/com/ubuntu/content/detail/transfer.cpp#L187-L191I don't know how important this check is for the other devices but now on my phone I can send files in FluffyChat and Teleports from the gallery without any problems.
-
@Krille Is there a update comming?
-
@tuxus no. Just wanted to share, that this solves it for me. But removing a check like this, where we have no idea what it does, can be dangerous. Ever played Mikado?
-
@Krille It's okay, you are right. Was just a question. I think, some users can test it.
-
@tuxus You can test it with this build of Content Hub: https://janian.de/index.php/s/k5Gt2FQCfyeK73Y
Steps to test:
- Download the 4 .deb files and push them to your phone
- On your phone mount in write mode with:
sudo mount -o remount,rw /
- Install the deb files on your phone with:
sudo apt install ./*.dev --reinstall
- Reboot your phone

@Krille I'll try it in the evening. Thanks.
-
@tuxus Thanks.
Where do you find the ubports-qa binary ? I am on Debian buster.OK, it’s on the phone. But, I guess that I will lose the fix with the next update, isn’t it ? -
Hi, I have a 32GB Suzu that I would love to get running UB Touch, to upgrade form my Nexus 5. Currently I haven't had any luck getting it running. I have,
-Used Emma the Xperia flashing tool to upgrade to Android 8
-Turned on USB debugging
-Installed TWRP and used it to wipe the cache, dalvik cache, data and system
-Installed UBports with the installer, it says it has successfully installedThen after the phone reboots I just get a black screen. I have tried both devel and edge channels.
Any tips to get it running would be much appreciated.
Cheers

Yesterday I have noticed a bigger bug of the camera app.
When I opened the camera half of the screen were green and the vibrator started and did not turn off until I shut it off.
Has ubports found a dev who wants to take over the Xperia X? Does anyone know that?
-
@turtlenate do you have an SD card inserted?
@makeixo Sadly, nobody has taken my position as the Xperia X maintainer yet
-
@makeixo Got the same !
-
@turtlenate I think the main thing to do is to remove any sd card before attempting to install.
-
@fredldotme Please Sir, do not leave us alone !!!
-
@livrecinq, you may be able to help with https://fredl.me/donate/ or by trying to fix some of these issues yourself.
-
Hi, I have tried with the SD card and sim removed. No luck yet. Will have another go later. Cheers
-
@fredldotme thats sad.
Thank you for all the work you have done.

Wasted a lot of time over this issue with F5121 which was previously running Sailfish OS. In my case had saved TAbackup prior to bootloader unlock for Sailfish so downgraded device back to MM with Androxyde Flashtool, restored DRM (Androxyde Advanced settings), upgraded to stock Oreo, bootloader unlocked on latest firmware, turn on USB debugging, installed twrp-3.2.2-0-suzu.img, wipe then advanced wipe for cache, dalvik cache, data and system, fastboot flash oem SW_binaries_for_Xperia_AOSP_N_MR1_5.7_r1_v08_loire.img and then run UBports installer 0.14.4-Beta to install 16.04/community/fredldotme/devel and got "spinning white circle" this time. Remember to remove any microSD card for any subsequent OTA updates, now on v 10* OS build number 2020-01-01/2.
