@mmvanheusden If you have powered by ubuntu screen fastboot will have worked at some point (try another cable they are often an issue). See if it will go to fastboot power and volume up held together.

                Hi

I had similar issues with the OnePlus One.

I think your log is indicating that USB debugging was not set up:

"device unauthorized.\nThis adb server's $ADB_VENDOR_KEYS is not set"

This is a bit tricky to get around as it means only Fastboot can be used so you'll need to get into that mode.

In this respect I found that the phone buttons keys had to be held for some time before anything happened per these instructions:

                https://www.androidexplained.com/boot-oneplus-one-fastboot-mode/.

If you can get to Fastboot, to get the phone back to stock and then have another go at setting up USB debugging follow this guide which only uses Fastboot commands:

                https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/guide-return-opo-to-100-stock-t2826541

Mine is now all working - this may work for you

it does not boot in fastboot no matter how long I keep the buttons pressed.

                    @mmvanheusden

OK. From a blank screen (Off) try only holding the volume up and then the power button as well until something happens.

Also have you left the phone plugged in as the OnePlus One can misbehave on very low charge.

@mmvanheusden You will get a very small oneplus logo on a black background, fastboot mode is not that visible on screen.

I tried this out again and this is the best way to get to Fastboot for me.

Have you tried from a command prompt to see if that at least gets fastboot or using Ubuntu on a live usb to do the same.

@mmvanheusden is USB connected when you try to enter fastboot mode? Try to disconnect

I now get the blue battery low message after the key combination,
but I have charged the phone all night.

@mmvanheusden I had that with one of my OPO common problem so it seems. Do you get the battery charging indication light? I don't. I have a new battery on the way so will let you know if it's that or something else when I can.
For now mine will reboot when connected a power source so try that. Connect give it a few mins and try to get to fastboot. It will take a few attempts.
By the way I left my OPO on "charge" for 24 hrs with no change battery charge indication will say 50% but is not https://forums.ubports.com/topic/3615/oneplus-one-battery-at-50-issue/15

I think the battery is fine because when Android was still on,
                                              it worked great
