Nexus 4: How to create a hot spot?
-
Hello everybody,
I'm using a Nexus 4 with UT - it works perfectly, thank you to all developers!
There is just one issue: Is it possible to create a hot spot to offer access to other devices to share my internet-connection (I'm new to UT)? Network settings don't show this item ...
Thnx! -
@alfatmelmac
The easiest way to activate the hotspot is using the dropdown menu.
In category Network, there is a toggle labeled "Hotspot" just above "Cellular settings..."Or you can go to
System Settings>Hotspotfor setup... -
Welll you must set a password before the option is visible. So first go to system settings and set it there.

You cannot create a wireless hotspot on Nexus 4. There were issues on some devices when the feature was originally developed, of which mako was one, and it is explicitly blocked in the code.

It isn't supported. RNDIS (USB tethering) is however:
In UT Tweak Tool:
- System
- ADB parameters
- choose RNDIS instead of MTP
- ADB parameters
HTH
- System
