Can anyone please add zip installation or Nandroid backup of ubuntu touch latest for santoni and maintain it (upload latest whenever ubt updates) for people out there who don't have PC and therefore can't install it. Including me.

Or any way of installing it without PC ?

Okay I tried both halium-install method and generating standalone zip based on @suoko instructions. Nothing works.

On the halium method, I'm stuck with
chroot: failed to run command ‘passwd’: No such file or directory
                Failed, please try again

and installing qemu-user-binfmt did not help.

For standalone install, I followed @suoko 's instructions and made a zip file, which installed successfully, but it won't boot (stuck on Mi logo). I think system partition was not patched, because in one instance, TWRP reported "No OS installed, reboot anyway?"

                Can someone suggest next steps?

Can You please write a few words about "fixes" or "new features" on new compiled images?

Since 2020/10/28, Redmi 4X has been added to UBports installer.

Please download the latest version of UBports installer and install it. You'll need to check "Wipe userdata" in the installer if you're from Android OS.

Really nice addition! I gave it a try today, but the system would not boot with the latest release. Next I tried with the rc, and it works! I have UBPorts not on my 4X,

@joaofl Yep, there was some bug that only occurs on "stable" channel, devel and rc works fine.

                                      Hi @Danct12,
I'm trying to install UT in santoni, with ubports-installer (version 0.6.0-beta), but I've just got: 'connection to device lost'

I'm on openSuse tumbleweed, and I could reach device with 'fastboot devices' returns 34xxxxxxxxxx fastboot

                                      ubports-installer is installed via snap
Xiaomi Redmi 4x have just been unlocked, then I've android 7.2.1 on it.

                                      Could you help me?
