        Hello,
I would love to ask about halium 7.1 devices, would be there OTA-13 stable update for them? I am using OnePlus 3T and for now I am able to install just edge with installer.
Second question is about QT 5.12, Is there possibility to test it with ubports-qa tool now? It would be useful for me as an app developer. Live demo of QT 5.12 would be cool too :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:
Third question: What is blocking providing dialer, messaging, adress-book, mediaplayer app and Morph Browser as clickable packages? I built some of them with clickable and there was working fine. It would improve updating experience.
        Thanks,
        Daniel

During Q&A 82, it was mentioned that the upgrade to Qt 5.12 was originally targeted for OTA-15, but that, provided progress continues at the current pace, it may be possible (but no promises) to ship OTA-14 with Qt 5.12. That's great news!

Question: If you ultimately decide to wait until OTA-15 to upgrade to Qt 5.12 (which would be understandable, but not preferable), could we see something like an “edge-qt5.12” channel sometime in the meantime?

            Hello.

I wonder if there will be an update to the emoji font. I really need the :face_vomiting: emoji to discuss politics. Any chance we get that in the next OTA?

Thank you and keep up the great work

              The emoji is there.
From the animals category it is few columns left.
The emoji does not puke but it is sick 🙂

                Hi,

don´t want to be nasty, but I´d like to ask about the firewall (fw) in UT. Long time ago I learned:

"Firewalls are used to protect your computer while you are connected to the Internet. If you are connected to the Internet, it is highly recommended that you position your computer behind a firewall to avoid it being compromised by an attacker".

Good news: We´ve got one and theoretically it can be turned on manually.

Not so good: Does not run smothly nor active by default.

                Remark:
To include the activation of the fw via a script seems it is necessary to process at least this steps: ufw reset, ufw default deny incoming, ufw default allow outgoing, activate networkspecific access, ufw enable.

Question: Is there a plan (and a timeline) to include the start of the fw in the boot process or why is a fw not so important with UT?

                Thanks,
                Tellina

                    Hey all!

First I wanted to say: I've been using the development channel on the Pinephone lately, and I've been super impressed with how fluid it is. I've tried some of the other distros on the Pinephone, and Lomiri / Morph Browser feel much better than Phosh / Epiphany / Firefox. So thanks!

                    Some questions from me:

                    1. There is an open issue on the Pinephone issues page regarding the amount of swap space available in the default UBTouch image. Which got me to thinking - if users wanted to test / try changing stuff like this (e.g. try enabling ZRAM, more swap, or even enabling a firewall like one of the above comments mentions), what's the best way to do so? AFAIK the root image is overwritten every update right? So if I'm on the development channel, and I want to play around with system level stuff, this means that every time I update I'd have to redo these changes, right? What is overwritten / reset during an OTA update?
                    2. Did y'all ever find someone to help with triaging bugs and such? I took a look at some of the ticket queues and honestly I don't even think I'd know where to start (albeit, a lot of that is due to unfamiliarity with your workflow / which tickets would be important). I can sympathize with the struggle contributors must go through to find tickets and triage duplicates and such. Do you have any high-level rundown of which tickets should live where, and how you'd roughly like to sort them? It may be easier to find help if people know the scope of what they're signing up for..
                    3. There was a recent post about having develop channels for arm64 devices. The Pinephone is ARM64 if I'm not mistaken, and has had a develop channel for a while. Was this mostly for Android-based, ARM64 devices that didn't have this channel before? What is "the normal release schedule" that Marius refers to in that post?
                    4. When developing apps for UBTouch (via clickable) the apps by default include some Qt components called the Ubuntu.Components 1.3. What are the scope of these components (and other Ubuntu.xxx libraries), and how specific to Ubuntu are they? E.g. are they a part of Lomiri, and are they something that e.g. Manjaro using Lomiri could take advantage of if someone packaged these Qt modules into something more generic / without Ubuntu naming? My thoughts are that while these seem indispensable to developing apps on UBTouch, it would make it a lot easier for folks if these same components could be used on other platforms, so an app on UBTouch could theoretically be packaged for other Linux phone distros as well. Note: I really don't think I understand these well enough to know if I'm abstracting this problem in the wrong way, so apologies if it sounds like rambling nonsense! EDIT: I thought it was weird, and eventually found this post. Seems these were supposed to be renamed to Lomiri.components at some point. How come clickable / the docker images don't have this rename? Looking at the repo it looks like this happened forever ago. Did I download the wrong docker images from clickable?

Anyways, I understand I've asked a lot, but I do appreciate the time taken to help clarify these points! I really appreciate the community being welcoming enough to answer questions like these, even if they've been asked before.

I realize that you guys never answer questions like this, but can you give us at least some kind of idea as to what's happening with the Pinephone? I actually make a point of tuning into your Q&A segments on YouTube, but I'm sorry to say that I don't usually learn anything relevant to my device. Don't get me wrong, I'm very grateful for the work you guys are doing, and I'm very excited to see the new update coming on September 4th, but it would be great to see a little more discussion regarding specific devices.

Just wondering, in what way do you prefer Lomiri/Morph over Phosh.

I'm still pondering whether or not to go the Librem 5 route. I'm well aware Phosh is still under heavy development, interested in your experience thus far.

how is the new QA system that was being tested a few weeks ago coming along?

Whether you think you can, or you can't, if you do not try, you will never truly know. So give it a Go.

I can't see this Q and A with Firefox or Opera.

@Rondarius Yes it works with another computer. With the first, i can read the link thru VLC.. So i think the problem comes from the computer. Thanks for your feedback.
