@theare27 I can't believe it, I just checked and mine is arriving today too, I expected it in a couple of days. Next day delivery from China to the UK - wow.
-
@halucigenia
Congrats!
Looking forward to reading your experiences -
Got it, typing this from the PineTab...
-
so far i found a few issues (for me) - it seems like sd-card can't be read
and bluetooth doesnt work.
oh and it wont power on when sdcard is in -
Checking my bluetooth headhones on my PinePhone on dev shows that they are working. I will switch to the dev channel. And
I see that the PinePhone is just getting an update on dev too. -
The PineTab had UBPorts Ubuntu Touch installed and no updates were available on the stable channel.
The device connected to wifi no trouble.
Morph Browser works OK to access the web - Youtube videos played but the sound was a bit disappointing.
No sound through headphones and Bluetooth headphones not connecting.
Updating to dev now... -
Bluetooth still not working on PineTab on dev...

@OldGrumpySwede
https://gitlab.com/ubports/community-ports/pinephone/-/issues/8sd-card is now usable after the fix provided in above thread from Kevin Keijzer
still not bootable with sd-card in though -
Is rotation working for you guys? I'm stuck in portrait it seems. Rotation itself seems to work. At least it did in the 5min on Mobian.
-
Rotation not working, but I am stuck on landscape.
-
@OldGrumpySwede On the telegram group someone said that the panel has been switched in the last 6 weeks or so and therefore most of the other distros are not configured for it yet. In my own tests out of postmarketOS, manjaro and mobian only the latter worked-ish so far.
-
@halucigenia
Got mine yesterday
Very nice it is too.
I can confirm that after flashing last nights dev build:Bluetooth is not working
Rotation seems to be not working
Camera not working (at all)
Dekko seems crashy
Account setup not yet possible for online accounts - for me anyway even with @rubencarneiro fix I used to use on a OnePlus 3TFirst impressions?
What I expected. Need to work out a few things of course and lots of bugs to start to hammer out but hey I have a tablet in my hands that came with a keyboard and trackpad that is a little buggy but - it runs Ubuntu Touch so I am happy
Lots to do and need to crack on with it.

Got a couple of Kingston Canvas Select Plus microSD Card SDCS2/64 GB SP Class 10 to test with.
Worked fine and formatted OK on the PinePhone.
The PineTab booted OK with it in and recognised it but would not format it. I got "There was an error while formatting the device.
I noticed a small switch next to the SD slot so i changed the position - switched it down towards the bottom of the tablet and rebooted. It still booted OK and formatted the device.
Did I just find the SD card write protect switch? -
@halucigenia said in PineTab:
Did I just find the SD card write protect switch?
Indeed you did.EDIT: I totally misunderstood and thought you were referencing the switch on the sdcard, but you meant the one next to the sdcard slot on the PineTab.
-
@arubislander Have either of you worked how we can boot from the SD Card yet? ie with another distro ?
-
@halucigenia Checked the sound issue.
Tested the Uart/Headphone switch (next to SC Card slot) - nothing
Ran sudo alsamixer and noted Headphones were set to Mute!
Hit tab to get to the Headphone bar - Hit M to Unmute and bingo !
Now have sound through headphones -
@andybleaden edit - we can use Jumpdrive
https://github.com/dreemurrs-embedded/Jumpdrive/releases/tag/0.3 -
I think that production PineTabs will be available in less time than production PinePhones due to the lower complexity of the device, yes. It may in fact be the case that this PCBA revision is final - we don't know this yet however. Regardless, small tweaks for efficiency or aesthetics are likely to follow in future batches.
-
@andybleaden I ran sudo alsamixer and noted that the headphones were set to mute (MM) also but unmute did not bring the headphone up on the PineTab.
re-"Uart/Headphone switch (next to SC Card slot)"
So, that was what I thought was the SD card write protect switch?
The headphones started working after switching that back upwards.
This trick works on the PinePhone too.
Plugging in the headphones does not mute the speakers though and you have to mute the line out to mute the speakers in alsamixer to do that. -
@Keneda changing the language changes the keyboard.
