Unable to enable data and connect to internet

Hi. A techie friend who lives quite far away from me convinced me to buy a Pine64. I love the idea of bypassing the Google monopoly but I have been unable to connect to the internet. When I press the data button nothing happens. Please be aware I'm a newbie, not a techie. Thanks for your help

@tosaitheoir Need more details - cell provider and type (cdma or gsm)?
Most likely, you need to set your APN. See Pinephone wiki regarding APN and cell networks. It's on the Pine64 forums
Make sure you have data enabled in the cellular settings menu first
