Hello, I'm looking on the FP2 device page and I'm asking myself, if I'm missing something.

I own a FP2 with Ubuntu Touch running and I have no Torch nor Flash in Camera working. I also experience other results regarding to battery life. With wifi and mobile data off and very moderate usage I've experienced about 4 days of battery life. With wifi and mobile data on the battery life certainly exceeds 1 day. And I've also experienced more than 1 week without restart from time to time (maybe I'm not using my device enough).

        What are your experiences?

@jezek Agree same with my FP2. I was a bit puzzeled about this rating on the device site... I assume this depends on the individual use case if you have many apps running in the "do not suspend" mode you will drain battery faster than a minimalistic user. But still the new site is a hughe improvement and the ratings being on the "conservative" side avoid raising false expectations. I think this is very important to give potential new users a realistic picture of what they can expect for the “average" use case

Think there are ways to address these issues in the accompanying blog https://ubports.com/blog/ubport-blogs-news-1/post/the-ubuntu-touch-devices-website-has-leveled-up-3740# in the second half. Think there will be a few of these conversations.

@jezek I also agree, same behavior with my FP2.
Especially torch and flash doesn't work. I see this should be corrected in the device page, there is a merge request: https://gitlab.com/ubports/infrastructure/devices.ubuntu-touch.io/-/merge_requests/50 .
It seems there is a lot of variabilities between FP2 users. On my side no significant battery overconsumption with mobile data, and very very rare reboot.
But my camera is not reactive, I must wait almost 5 seconds to take a photo after launching camera app.

@nogoogle @Aloys Thank you for your insights.

@Lakotaubp I've read the blog and that's why I started this thread. To correct the FP2 devices page, so any potential buyer is not disappointed.

I've upvoted the merge request. I think, the device page should reflect what you get, using the standart installation procedure (with installer). So I think the torch/flash should be red, maybe with some note, that maybe you can make it work.

What about the battery life and reboot. Green, orange or red?

@aloys I had no idea some people did not experience the data battery drain ! Lucky you ! For me, with 4G on, the battery drains in two hours, even if i don't do anything with it

@emphrath , in the past I had high battery drain with mobile data. It was solved after firmware update and OTA update.
I followed this post from Flohack: [HowTo] [FP2] Update baseband & other firmware. But I do not know if this kind of update is still valid 2 years later.

Torch and flash are marked as working because they were working with the first camera module. They aren't with the new camera module. I submitted a MR to change that, and also to mark that there isn't any reboots now.
About battery, it really depends if you have Wi-Fi on or not. The Wi-Fi is draining mine.
The camera is indeed very slow to launch.

@peat_psuwit started a new port for the FP2 based on Halium 7.1 and this port and an updated gstreamer you have a smooth camera application and flashlight working. I don't know what's missing for the new port to be released. USB is broken I think, and no ability to charge without booting I would say.

@aloys Hi, I've updated the devices page with the merge request you've mentioned. Now it should be correct.
