@unisuperbox
Do like you need, we can wait, I can wait the time you want -
@unisuperbox I prefer a good update over a fast update!
-
@unisuperbox It isn't a problem to wait for OTA-16.
Something else : At times the scrolling of web pages in morph as well as webapps or dekko is jerky. This happens with a BQ (frequently) as well as the Volla (surprising given its memory). It's not new, I don't think it's a regression but I'd like to understand the theoretical reason(s) if you know even if it's not solved at the moment. Closing the page (only reloading isn't enough) or the email and reloading usually (not always) solves the problem. -
@domubpkm It's due to lack of GPU acceleration, I'm pretty sure.
-
@dobey Okay. Hopefully this can be implemented enough quickly for devices that can. Can we say that the better the quality of the network, the less there is this kind of problem or a smooth scrolling of the pages is not subordinated to the quality of the network ?
-
@domubpkm
Sure good quality network makes scrolling better, on ubports for example that's obvious since messages on big threads are loaded when scrolling ^^ -
@keneda Yes.... But I'm wary of the obvious because, as I said, just reloading a web page with bad scrolling doesn't improve the bad scrolling even with a quality network: you have to close the web page and restart it to remove the problem. All UT users must have noticed this i think.
-
@domubpkm
I don't have that kind of issue, scrolling sometime is laggy yes, but never it stay like that.On the other way sometime morph kind of freeze, nothing i can do on the screen, but it's simple to workeround, just start swipping from right
(swapping apps gesture), and then release, and morph is alive again. -
@domubpkm said in OTA-16 Call for Testing:
or a smooth scrolling of the pages is not subordinated to the quality of the network ?
I would say it depends on the page design. If it's also hitting network and loading more data when scrolling (ie, as infinite scroll), then of course network speed also matters.
-
@dobey OK thanks for the clarification. Let's say that GPU acceleration will make scrolling on UT easier because I've never seen chopped scrolling in my Volla OS tests whearas yes on UT on Volla phone.
-
@unisuperbox sound issue not solved RC 11 on Volla.
-
@keneda What device is this morph freezing issue on? And how can I replicate it?
-
@dobey
I'm on MX4, this issue is not related to RC OTA 16, it is there since longer (maybe since i switched from canonical OTA-15 to ubp OTA-12).That's linked to some gesture i do on screen, i'll try to see exactly when it occurs and reproduce it so i can give you the exact step to replicate.
-
Ok so i "ran" some tests.
I think, maybe, issue can occur only on website that have a menu you can open in morph in right panel, from right edge of the screen.I ran on ubports site, go to a thread where you can scroll.
Start to pull out right panel from morph.
Release.
I just saw that when it's freezed, you still see a line from right edge, like if the panel was not properly back in.
Only pulling it back out make morph act normal again.
The issue doesn't occur everytime pulling right panel, never encountered issue like that with left panel.

@unisuperbox Rotation doesn't seem to work on OPO with RC/W10. I've checked rotation lock and restarted the device. Unfortunately, I don't know if rotation ever worked before on this device. According to device page rotation should work. Can anybody confirm?
-
@padu Yes, screen rotation works for me on OpO. And I'm on the RC channel and on W10....
-
@moem OK, thanks.
-
@moem Powering the device down and on again brought rotation back. Thanks for the prompt reply!
-
-
@padu There have always been problems with rotation on the OPO, often randomly in my experience. Restarting the phone should solve the problem when it occurs.
