Media play back issued
-
Is any one getting the same issues as in this thread? I can't play radio or music with the screen off.
-
@lakotaubp My experience with this kind of issue is as follows:
- Screen off, charger unplugged, music playing from internal storage: no issues
- Screen off, charger unplugged, music streaming from internet: music stutters and stops a few seconds after screen off
- Screen off, charger plugged in, music streaming: no issues
- Screen on, music streaming: no issues
For streaming music I usually use the emby client app to stream from my jellyfin server (app supension prevented with UT Tweak Tool, but this doesn't seem very effective). I haven't tried to troubleshoot it much becuase it wasn't a huge issue for me. Lmk if I'm misunderstanding the issue you're referring to or if there is something I should test.
-
@j6 No just that there is an issue. The only thing is it is only on the second track from internal storage that the issue is noticied. Thanks for testing.
-
@lakotaubp I'm an idiot, the music totally does cut off on the second track when playing locally with the screen off and charger unplugged, even with app suspension prevented in UT Tweak Tool. With charger plugged in this issue goes away. Sorry about that.

Please update to latest devel, this should be fixed again...
BR -
@flohack Still the same with devel 326 using web radio app, stuttering when screen off. Will try next update later today.
-
@flohack Playing of on device music works fine now. Web based stuff still stuttering when screen off devel 327. Might be best for others to confirm or not.
-
@lakotaubp Same here on 327, local playback of multiple tracks with screen off works as expected. Web based music stutters with screen off and charger unplugged.
-
i am running 327 and it works for me.
I played a web radio app for 10 mins over wifi and 10 more mins over data without headphones and no charger without any issue -
@j0e This one appears to work for me https://open-store.io/app/radio.s710 this one stutters https://open-store.io/app/radioweb.josele13 so the fix is probably correct and web has the issue somehow.
-
yes it could be the app itself.
i used the first app you mentioned and this one https://open-store.io/app/uradio.rubenxparra
they both did great -
Just a thought is that app maybe not using media-hub for playback, that means it would not get enough CPU when its not in the foreground and active?
