If you try to scan a QR code in Authenticator NG does it focus and scan the code at all (invalid code should pop an error dialog I think)?

@dobey I was also going to suggest Authenticator NG. It works for what it has to do.

@dobey Thanks very much. Can you explain what this app does and why it requires an account? Or do you have a link with the description? I am a simple user, not as deep in UT (or Linux in general) as many other people here.

@odo Authenticator NG is a 2FA soft token app for TOTP/HOTP authentication tokens. As one way to add 2FA tokens to the app is to scan a QR code, I was just curious if it works well on the Oneplus 1 or if it has similar issue to Tagger here.

Given the other reply, I presume it is working well, and so the core issue of Tagger is more the QR backend used, as I believe this was also a complaint with older versions of Authenticator NG, before I switched it over to using qzxing.

@dobey Ok, the scanning should start after typing the camera button? No reaction. The same as with Tagger.

@odo Yep, OK. I wonder why it semes to be working for others though. No oil on your camera lens, right? 😉

@dobey No oil or something else😊 But when it's an autofocus problem of the camera, as others say, it's not the app.

As a workaround, can you take a picture with the camera, then upload it to a website that decodes QR codes, and copy the result from there? That is how I justy linked Axolotl on an OpO with the version of Signal running on my laptop.

                      Is currently using an Op5t
Also owns an Op1, a BQ E4.5 and an Xperia X, as well as a BQ tablet and a Pinetab2. Please, someone... make it stop.

@moem Perhaps a way to go. For me in the moment it makes more sense taking an AOSP phone.

I cannot get Tagger to scan any code (be it a barcode or a QR code) on the BQ M10 tablet. On other devices (like the Redmi Note 7 Pro) it works just fine. The camera lens is clean, autofocus seems to be working, yet it's not scanning. Insufficient CPU power, maybe?

@mardy This thread is really for the OPO issue which is already known about. I would check for any known issues with Tagger and your device and if there are none open a new thread under your device sub forum. Thanks
