Re: How to install Ubuntu touch on unsupported device
As a newbie, I am desperately looking for where to position my request.
To me this forum seems quite daunting.

Is it possible to install Ubuntu Touch on the following device ?
If so: does it make sense ? And are there any instructions for this ?

Tablet from the year 2012 from the company ODYS:

        XELIO
CPU: 1,2 GHz Processor (Cortex A8 with ARMv7)
        Chipset: SoC Allwinner A10
GPU: Mali-400MP with OpenGL ES 2.0
        RAM: 512 MB DDRIII RAM
Display: High Resolution Colour TFT Display with LED Backlight
        (Capacitive)
Screen Size: (Diagonal) 17,8 cm (7")
        Resolution: 800 x 480 | 16:9
        Internal Memory: 4GB
Network Connection WLAN (802.11 b/g/n), 3G Dongle Ready

Mini-USB port (also with host function)
        Mini HDMI output
        Battery: 4000 mAh Lithium Polymer

        Android version: 4.04 - Baseband version 1.4rc3 -
        Kernel version: 3.0.8+ paco@inet #26
        Build number:
        A10_ANDROID4.0.3_ODYS_V1.02_20121123

Thanks in advance for any further help !

There is no port for that device, as I'm sure you have seen. This means it's not supported. If you could make a port yourself, then that would make a difference... but that is not a quick or easy task. If it's possible at all.
And frankly I do not think it makes sense, as the device seems underpowered.

In other words, no. I don't think it's possible.

          Is currently using an Op5t
Also owns an Op1, a BQ E4.5 and an Xperia X, as well as a BQ tablet and a Pinetab2. Please, someone... make it stop.

              @lea21
              RAM 512 MB
              Storage 4 GB

Definetly does not worth the effort porting.
Device under 1.5GB ram is not a good idea.
4GB of storage would not be convinient to ensure space for apps and OS, not talking about user data.
